Forever part of the league

In Memoriam

Remembering the owners who helped make the AMD Fantasy Football League what it is.

Terry Kennedy
Original Owner

Terry Kennedy

Cathedral Golden Gales
The Glue. My Rival.

Terry Kennedy was an original owner and 1 of the toughest competitors in this league. If he made it to the playoffs, he was going all the way. He made it to 8 Championship games in 16 1/2 seasons. Football was important to him. He often told family to not call during gametime, “I'm playing Fantasy Football.” He loved Canada and the animals that came to his yard. We had several conversations about the wildlife that visited him.

For all of the conversations that we had, and the opinions he gave, he kept to himself. No wife or family close, he didn't share his health. He always let on that he was ok. He had several heart attacks and spent time in the hospital where we had no idea. He enlisted in the Canadian military when he was 17.

Thank you for all the memories and everything that you brought and gave to this league. You are 1 of the reasons that this league has lasted this long. The glue. My rival. I called hospitals looking for you at the start. And now at the end.

You will always be part of this league as we will name the Championship after you. You had been there so many times over the years, it only makes sense.

Jake Calhoun
Original Owner

Jacob “Jake” Calhoun

March 30, 1982 — February 17, 2025
Truly an original.

Jake Calhoun was an original owner and an original character. For 19 seasons, he was part of the fabric of the AMD FFL — 176 wins, 8 playoff games, 1 Championship, and many opinions. Jake was never short on those opinions, and the league was more interesting because he was willing to share them.

Gaming was a huge part of Jake's life. Through it, he found friendship, competition, companionship, and a second family. He was loved and respected by the people who knew him there. The AMD FFL was another one of those places where competition became community, and Jake was part of it from the beginning.

Nineteen seasons is more than a statistic. It is years of drafts, lineup decisions, trades, arguments, wins, losses, conversations, rivalries, and laughs. Jake helped shape the personality of this league simply by being himself. His Championship is in the record book, his 176 wins are in the standings, but the character he brought to the league is the part no spreadsheet can capture.

Jake passed away on February 17, 2025, at only 42 years old. He left far too soon, but after nearly two decades in this league, his place in its history is permanent.

Truly an original. 19 seasons, 176 wins, a Championship, and many opinions. Forever part of the AMD FFL family.

Jeff Brown
Pekin Dragons Owner

Jeffery “Jeff” Brown

March 20, 1970 — December 27, 2025
Remembering Jeff.

Jeffery Allen Brown of East Peoria passed away at his home on December 27, 2025, at the age of 55. Born in Peoria on March 20, 1970, Jeff was the son of Bobby Brown, Sr. and Joyce (Highley) Schneider.

Jeff spent 18 years working at Hardee's in East Peoria and later worked at Caterpillar through Allied Universal. Away from work, he enjoyed going to concerts, had played football in his youth, and remained a devoted sports fan throughout his life — especially of the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Cubs.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Joyce and Steven Schneider; his siblings, Bobby Brown, Jr., Monica Schneider, and Nikki Brown; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Luna. He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Bobby and Marilyn Brown, Sr., as well as other members of his family.

For a league built around football, competition, and friendships that stretch across years, Jeff's love of the game made him a natural part of the AMD FFL family. Like every owner who spends seasons sharing Sundays, rivalries, wins, losses, jokes, and conversations with the rest of us, his place here became about much more than fantasy football.

Thank you for the seasons, the competition, and the memories. Forever part of the AMD FFL family.
